Retrospection

Is there anything more addictive than those VH1 "I Love the ____" shows that feed on your underlying nastalgia for the 80's and 90's? It's better than that "Where are They Now?" show that seeks out and satisfies your previously unrealized subconscious curiosity of the fate of forgotten movie/TV stars.

Like most TV programming, there is absolutely no substance to this show, but man is it ever entertaining. A half hour just flies by and before you know it, the show's over. And you've got nothing to show for it other than a vacant feeling in your gut left by that fleeting sense of amusement and just a deep aching yearning for another episode.

This must be the feeling drug addicts describe that motivates them to do whatever it takes to get to the next high: The sense of emptiness, and the need to feed that pleasure portion of the brain. More VH1! More VH1!

Who would have thought you could get so much enjoyment laughing at the strange and stupid things we did as a society merely 10 years ago?
