Aloha

A few pictures from Maui...

The beach in front of our resort at Ka'anapali. Every day looked just like this one. Temperature right around 75 degrees, with a nice breeze coming in from the ocean. The beaches were just like the ones you see in postcards, with tall palm trees lining the sand.

At the end of every beautiful day, every night had a gorgeous sunset like this one.

Or this one.

Or this one.

Or this one.

Everywhere I looked, at any point during the day, the scenery would be postcard picture perfect. I felt like I was living in a promotional brochure. Nathalie and I were also quite pleased to find that second hand smoke didn't exist because there's no smoking in public places.

Another great surprise was the absence of road rage (even my own viscious road rage had magically disappeared the moment I stepped foot on Maui.) This was quite peculiar considering that nearly all of the cars on the road were rental cars driven by tourists, with everybody rubbernecking at every turn due to the amazing scenery. You figure the locals would be going nuts with all the tourists on the road. But such wasn't the case.

The only time I heard anybody toot their horn was whenever we drove through this one tunnel on Route 30. Inevitably some goober tourist in a rental car would honk their horn to hear the echo. That got old pretty quickly.

(More pictures tomorrow!)
