For the next 10 weeks, I will be stationed in a small community hospital in southeast Louisiana, deep into the Mississippi river delta's bayou country. Living down here is similar to what you might have seen in The Waterboy: Gators, cajuns, and people that talk funny are common findings. Teeth, hygiene, and internet access are not so common, so finding a way to blog for the next 10 weeks may not be so easy.

In other news, a tropical storm is headed this direction. Time to get provisions and hope this keeps people away from the hospital.

Also noteworthy, the new horror movie "The Skeleton Key" is based on the supernatural voodoo goings-on in Terrebone Parish, Louisiana, the very location where I'm going to be for the next 10 weeks. Great.
