Ketchup

While in Chicago for the Society of Vascular Surgery conference, I looked up a childhood friend of mine and spent a pleasant morning with him and his wife. Although 7 or 8 years had passed since we had last seen each other, it only took us about 15 minutes to catch up on those lost years. Then we pretty much picked up right where we left off.

Being in the middle of the hustle and bustle of downtown Chicago was a great experience, but it was nice to end the trip spending our last morning in the quiet neighborhood where my friend currently lives with this wife and a newly adopted dog. There's something to be said about a lazy morning of pancakes and strolls along tree lined streets as you collect your thoughts over fresh mugs of coffee.
