India

Prior to my residency, I can't ever remember a time when my pen would run out of ink. I'd lose the pen first before it would ever run out of ink.

Now, I'm constantly writing. Charts, letters, operative logs, nursing orders, various forms, work excuses, prescriptions. Everything has to be documented and signed. So I'm constantly writing. And as a consequence, I go through about a pen a month.

BIC claims their pens will write an average of 2 miles before running out of ink.
