Seattle

Nathalie is deathly afraid of heights... so to think that she even entertained the idea of going up to the top of the Space Needle was exceedingly brave.

However, she blew me away when we got up to the observation deck. After a slow walk around the indoor observation deck, she decided to try venturing outside.

"If those kids can do it, so can I," she remarked, pointing at several children running amok on the outdoor observation deck despite their parent's fruitless scolding.

So Nathalie ventured out, cautious at first, but growing bolder and more confident with time. After several minutes, we were walking freely around the perimeter of the Space Needle, 520 feet up in the air on the outdoor deck with the bay wind in our hair and the salty fresh air in our faces.
