Germination

The basil seeds have kicked in gear, and after only 3 days of loitering around in dirt, there are several tiny green sprouts showing signs of life in my planter. Meanwhile, the oregano side of the planter has nothing, and has done nothing to offer any further excitement.

I'm a long ways away from that fresh pesto sauce, but the little seeds have offered up a peculiarly satisfying sense of accomplishment. (Despite the only thing I've done for them being the transfer from a paper envelope to moist dirt.)
