Entanglement

Nathalie and I were both fortunate today to leave work early in the afternoon. The weather was cooperative and conducive for outdoor lounging: Sunny, warm, with a light breeze. So we sat outside at the picnic table by the sycamore tree in our backyard, reading and enjoying each other's company while the subtle tones of jazz played softly from the radio.

As daylight began to wane, and hunger began to grow, we lit up the grill and the Christmas lights strung up along the canopy of the sycamore tree. We grilled porkchops and roasted potatoes for dinner, illuminated by the twinkling Christmas lights above and the glowing coals below. And for dessert, I danced with Nathalie as darkness fell, holding her gaze with mine, as Tony Bennett crooned out his version of "The Way You Look Tonight."
