Infantry

My lymphocytes were sleeping on the job. The virus exploited this breach in my security system and infiltrated with ease. The ambush started silently, but word has leaked out and thousands of other lymphocytes and monocytes are migrating towards my throat to reinforce my weakened defenses.

Filled with the remains of dead lymphocytes and viruses, the lymph nodes are signaling with pain that it has been overcome and no longer able to contain the dead. Mucus production has increased in efforts to contain the viruses in the throat and prevent them from sneaking deeper down into the respiratory tract.

Already, the body is training new lymphocytes. If conditions worsen, I suspect immature bands will be released to fight before they are fully trained. Although current conditions are not critical, there is a heightened sense of awareness throughout the body as it prepares for a full blown battle. The lymph node's distress signal predicts the possibility that fever may utilized. Only time will tell.
