Durum

"What's that boiling in the pot?"

"It's tortellini," I replied, rummaging in the cabinet for the lid.

"What's tortellini?"

"It's like ravioli, but a different shape."

"Oh." Then after one last curious look at the floating blobs, Nathalie went to the living room in search of her cellphone.

After dinner, I asked Nathalie what she thought about the tortellini, to which she replied that they were delicious and wouldn't mind eating them again.

"So what did you think about the filling? It was cheese and garlic."

Nathalie looked a little confused. "Filling?"

"Yeah, did you not taste it?" I asked.

"Oh dear... I didn't even know there was filling."

"I told you it was just like ravioli."

"I know..." came a sheepish answer, "I didn't think it was filled with anything. I thought it was just funny shaped pasta."
