Resilience

How surgical residents and cockroaches are similar:

1.  If there's any leftover food laying around, you're sure to find a resident feasting off of it.

2.  A group of surgical residents will scatter when they suspect they've been spotted, either by senior staff or a medicine resident seeking a consultation.

3.  Surgical residents are indestructible.  Despite 100 hour work weeks, surgical residents will continue to report to work, unfazed.

4.  Despite our disheveled appearances and coffee stains on our coats, we're quite meticulous regarding our hygiene.

5.  When you see one surgical resident lurking around the hospital, it means that there are several more hiding and roaming the halls nearby.
