Cartridge

The window AC unit at Nathalie's is out. It won't start up. It sits there like an old, ugly, brown gremlin and keeps overloading the circuit. It won't even let me reset the circuit breaker. I don't have a clue what the hell is wrong with the damn thing.

It's a good thing that she has two window units, and we feel lucky that the smaller of the two broke, but with the working air conditioner located on the opposite side of the apartment, a broken air conditioner means misery. Especially in humid New Orleans. I bet a 40 degree temperature gradient lies between one side of the apartment and the other.

Until that deadbeat landlord shows up to replace the window unit, we're staying at my place. It's a longer commute to work, but worth having that cool air.
